About the Role
The Associate Professor will provide academic leadership in Hospitality Management while contributing significantly to teaching, research, curriculum development, student supervision, and institutional service.
The successful candidate will bring a strong record of academic achievement, substantial teaching experience, an established research profile, and the ability to connect hospitality education with evolving industry practices.
The role offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Hospitality Management programme while mentoring students and academic colleagues and strengthening the institution’s research and academic standing.
Academic and Professional Requirements
Applicants must
Hold a PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
Have served as a Senior Lecturer for a minimum of three (3) years.
Demonstrate substantial teaching experience in a recognised higher education institution.
Have produced at least ten (10) refereed publications since appointment as Lecturer.
Demonstrate a sustained and credible research record in Hospitality Management or a related field.
Demonstrate experience supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
Demonstrate experience in curriculum development, academic assessment, and programme review.
Demonstrate knowledge of contemporary hospitality operations , trends, technologies, sustainability, and industry practices.
Demonstrate academic leadership and the ability to mentor and develop junior faculty.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and multidisciplinary academic environment.
Membership in a relevant professional or academic association will be an advantage.
