About the Role
The Associate Professor will provide academic leadership in Psychology and contribute actively to teaching, research, student supervision, curriculum development, academic mentoring, and institutional service.
The successful candidate will bring a strong record of teaching and scholarship, demonstrate sustained research productivity, and contribute to the continued development of Psychology education at WEUC.
The role requires an academic who can inspire students, mentor emerging scholars, advance research, and contribute to an engaging and intellectually rigorous academic environment.
Academic and Professional Requirements
Applicants must
Hold a PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Psychology from a recognised institution.
Have served as a Senior Lecturer for a minimum of three (3) years.
Demonstrate substantial teaching experience in a recognised higher education institution.
Have produced at least ten (10) refereed publications since appointment as Lecturer.
Demonstrate a sustained and credible research record in Psychology or an appropriate area of specialisation.
Demonstrate experience supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate research.
Demonstrate experience in curriculum development, academic assessment, programme review, and quality assurance.
Demonstrate current knowledge of relevant psychological theories, research methodologies, ethical standards, and professional developments.
Demonstrate the ability to mentor students and junior academic staff effectively.
Possess strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a collaborative and multidisciplinary academic environment.
Membership of a recognised professional or academic body will be an advantage.
