Civil Engineer

The Role
The Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, supervision, and delivery of civil engineering works. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure that construction activities meet approved designs, specifications, quality requirements, safety standards, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
The Civil Engineer will
Support the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, designs, and project documentation.
Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs and technical requirements.
Conduct site inspections and monitor the progress and quality of civil works.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, site supervisors, and other project stakeholders.
Monitor project activities against approved schedules and report delays or potential risks promptly.
Take site measurements and verify quantities where required.
Assist with the preparation of technical reports, site reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
Identify construction issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship used on project sites.
Ensure that construction activities comply with applicable engineering standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
Support project cost, material, and resource monitoring.
Participate in site meetings and provide technical input on project matters.
Review completed works and support inspection, testing, and project handover activities.
Maintain accurate engineering records, drawings, measurements, and other project documentation.
Work with project teams to resolve technical and site-related challenges efficiently.
Perform other engineering duties assigned by management.
Educational and Experience Requirements
The successful candidate should
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
Have one to four years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering, construction, infrastructure, or a related field.
Demonstrate practical knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
Have the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Demonstrate experience or familiarity with construction site supervision and project coordination.
Possess strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate proficiency in relevant engineering and Microsoft Office software .
Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Be willing to work on project sites and travel when project requirements demand.
