We are seeking a knowledgeable, passionate, and student-focused Part-Time Lecturer – Finance to join our academic team in Ho.
Where You Come In
As a Part-Time Lecturer in Finance , you will deliver engaging, relevant, and academically rigorous instruction across assigned finance courses.
You will plan and deliver lectures, facilitate discussions, prepare learning materials, assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and support students in applying financial concepts to real-world business situations.
You will work closely with academic colleagues to maintain high teaching standards and contribute to an environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, professional development, and academic excellence.
This role is ideal for a finance professional or academic who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication, teaching, analytical, and student-engagement skills.
Key Accountabilities
In this role, you will

Plan and deliver high-quality lectures in assigned finance courses.

Develop lesson plans, presentations, lecture notes, case studies, exercises, and other learning resources.

Explain financial theories, concepts, models, and principles clearly and effectively.

Connect financial concepts to practical business, investment, banking , and economic situations.

Facilitate classroom discussions, tutorials, group activities, and practical learning sessions.

Encourage students to analyse financial information and develop sound financial decision-making skills.

Use relevant examples, case studies, and current industry developments to enhance learning.

Incorporate appropriate technology and digital learning tools into teaching.

Prepare assignments, quizzes, examinations, presentations, projects , and other assessments.

Assess and grade student work fairly, accurately, and consistently.

Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve their academic performance.

Monitor student participation, progress, and learning outcomes.

Provide academic guidance and support to students when required.

Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, grades, and other academic information.
-
Participate in examination activities, including invigilation and moderation, when assigned.

Collaborate with academic colleagues to support effective programme delivery.

Review and update course materials to reflect current financial practices, regulations, technologies, and industry developments.

Support curriculum review and continuous academic improvement initiatives.

Maintain professional and ethical standards in teaching, assessment, and student interactions.

Participate in departmental meetings and other academic activities as required.

Support student mentoring and academic advising where applicable.

Stay informed about developments in finance, investment, banking, financial markets, and related fields.

Qualification & Experience
Candidates should hold a relevant academic qualification in Finance, Financial Management, Banking, Economics, Accounting, Investment Management, or a related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
A Master’s degree or higher in Finance or a related discipline will be an advantage.
Professional qualifications or certifications in finance, investment, banking, accounting, or related fields will also be an advantage.
Previous experience teaching or lecturing at the tertiary level will be highly valued.
Relevant professional experience in financial management, banking, investment, financial analysis, treasury, corporate finance, financial markets, or a related field will be an advantage.
Candidates should demonstrate strong subject-matter expertise and the ability to translate financial theory into practical learning experiences.
