The Opportunity
WEUC invites applications from qualified and experienced academics for a Professor-level position in Hospitality Management .
The successful candidate will provide academic leadership in Hospitality Management while contributing actively to teaching, research, student supervision, curriculum development, industry engagement, and the broader academic life of the College.
We welcome academics who bring strong scholarly expertise, industry knowledge, innovative thinking, and a passion for preparing students to excel in the hospitality, tourism, food service , and related sectors.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will
Deliver engaging and high-quality lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical sessions, and other academic activities.
Develop, review, and enhance courses and curricula in Hospitality Management.
Integrate contemporary hospitality practices, industry trends, technology, case studies, and current research into teaching and learning.
Conduct original and impactful research in Hospitality Management and related fields.
Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly outlets.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide effective academic mentorship.
Mentor junior faculty members and support their academic and professional development.
Develop research collaborations with universities, hotels, restaurants, tourism organisations, hospitality businesses, professional bodies, and other relevant stakeholders.
Pursue opportunities for research grants, consultancy , executive education, partnerships, and industry engagement.
Strengthen relationships between the College and hospitality and tourism industry stakeholders.
Participate actively in academic conferences, seminars, workshops, industry events, and professional development activities.
Contribute to departmental and institutional committees, quality assurance initiatives, and academic planning.
Support the continuous review and improvement of Hospitality Management programmes.
Promote an inclusive, collaborative, practical, and intellectually stimulating learning environment.
Undertake other academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the College.

Qualification Required & Experience
Candidates must
Possess an MPhil or MSc. in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Hotel Management, or a relevant area of specialization; a PhD is preferably required .
Have considerable teaching and research experience at a university or comparable higher education institution.
Have not less than 15 refereed publications since appointment as Lecturer .
Demonstrate a strong record of scholarly research and academic publication.
Demonstrate substantial experience teaching and supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Demonstrate strong academic leadership, communication, interpersonal, research, and mentoring skills.
Show evidence of continuous professional development and engagement with current developments in hospitality and tourism.
Demonstrate the ability to connect academic theory with contemporary hospitality and tourism industry practices.
Demonstrate the ability to build productive relationships with industry and professional stakeholders.
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the academic community.
