The Opportunity
WEUC invites applications from qualified and experienced academics for a Professor-level position in Human Resource Management .
The successful candidate will provide academic leadership in Human Resource Management while contributing actively to teaching, research, student supervision, curriculum development, and the broader academic life of the College.
We welcome academics who bring strong expertise in people management, organisational development, leadership, employee relations, and contemporary workplace practices, together with a passion for preparing students for evolving professional environments.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will
Deliver engaging and high-quality lectures, seminars, tutorials, and other academic activities.
Develop, review, and enhance courses and curricula in Human Resource Management.
Integrate current HR practices, workplace trends, case studies, technology, and contemporary research into teaching and learning.
Conduct original and impactful research in Human Resource Management and related fields.
Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly outlets.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide effective academic mentorship.
Mentor junior faculty members and support their academic and professional development.
Develop research collaborations with universities, businesses, professional HR bodies, and other relevant stakeholders.
Pursue opportunities for research grants, consultancy , executive education, partnerships, and industry engagement.
Participate actively in academic conferences, seminars, workshops, and professional development activities.
Contribute to departmental and institutional committees, quality assurance initiatives, and academic planning.
Support the continuous review and improvement of academic programmes.
Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and intellectually stimulating learning environment.
Undertake other academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the College.

Qualification Required & Experience
Candidates must
Possess an MPhil or MSc. in Human Resource Management, Management, or a relevant area of specialization; a PhD is preferably required .
Have considerable teaching and research experience at a university or comparable higher education institution.
Have not less than 15 refereed publications since appointment as Lecturer .
Demonstrate a strong record of scholarly research and academic publication.
Demonstrate substantial experience teaching and supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Demonstrate strong academic leadership, communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
Show evidence of continuous professional development and engagement with current developments in Human Resource Management.
Demonstrate the ability to connect academic theory with contemporary workplace and organisational practices.
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the academic community.
