The Opportunity

WEUC invites applications from qualified and experienced academics for Professor-level positions in Computer Science and Information Technology .

The successful candidates will provide academic leadership within their areas of expertise while delivering high-quality teaching, conducting impactful research, supervising students, and contributing to the continued development of the College.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will

Deliver engaging and high-quality lectures, seminars, tutorials, and other academic activities.

Develop, review, and enhance course content and curricula to reflect current developments in Computer Science and Information Technology.

Conduct original and impactful research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly outlets.

Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide effective academic mentorship.

Mentor and support junior faculty members in teaching, research, and professional development.

Develop research collaborations and contribute to the College’s research and publication profile.

Identify and pursue opportunities for research grants, partnerships, consultancy , and industry collaboration.

Participate in academic conferences, seminars, workshops, and other professional activities.

Contribute to departmental and institutional committees, quality assurance initiatives, and academic planning.

Support accreditation and continuous improvement of academic programmes.

Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and intellectually stimulating learning environment.

Undertake other academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the College.

Qualification Required & Experience

Candidates must

Possess an MPhil or MSc. in the relevant area of specialization; a PhD is preferably required .

Have considerable teaching and research experience at a university or comparable higher education institution.

Have not less than 15 refereed publications since appointment as Lecturer .

Demonstrate a strong record of scholarly research and academic publication.

Demonstrate substantial experience in teaching and supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Demonstrate strong academic leadership, communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.

Show evidence of continuous professional development and active engagement with developments in their area of specialization.
