As part of our Ghana Project , we are seeking a proactive, organised, and technically capable Project Manager – Civil Works to coordinate and support the successful delivery of civil construction and infrastructure activities.

The Opportunity

The Project Manager – Civil Works will coordinate civil works from planning and mobilisation through implementation, completion, and handover.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, site teams, contractors, suppliers, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure that civil works meet approved specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, project schedules, and agreed deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will

Plan, coordinate, and monitor civil works throughout the project lifecycle.

Support project mobilisation, site preparation, construction, installation, completion, and handover activities.

Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, milestones, and activity trackers.

Coordinate civil engineering teams, site personnel, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project resources.

Monitor construction activities and ensure that work progresses according to approved plans, specifications, and schedules.

Coordinate activities such as foundations, concrete works, structural works, drainage, excavation, roadworks, site preparation, and related infrastructure works as applicable.

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, materials, and compliance with project requirements.

Identify construction challenges, technical issues, resource constraints, and potential delays and take appropriate corrective action.

Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve project issues efficiently.

Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance and follow up on outstanding work and deliverables.

Review project drawings, specifications, method statements, work programmes, and other relevant technical documentation.

Maintain accurate project records, site reports, progress reports, inspection records, and other project documentation.

Prepare regular project status reports for management and clients.

Coordinate project meetings and document decisions, action points, and follow-up responsibilities.

Support project budgeting, resource planning, procurement coordination, and cost monitoring.

Monitor the use of materials, labour, equipment, and other project resources.

Ensure that civil works comply with approved quality standards, specifications, safety procedures, and applicable requirements.

Coordinate quality inspections, testing, snagging, corrective works, and project close-out activities.

Support the preparation of project handover documentation and completion reports.

Promote safe working practices and ensure that project teams follow approved health and safety procedures.

Identify opportunities to improve construction efficiency, quality, cost control, and project delivery.

Undertake other project-related responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualification & Experience

Candidates should

Have 1–3 years of relevant project management, civil works, construction, engineering, or project coordination experience .

Demonstrate practical knowledge of civil construction and infrastructure project activities.

Demonstrate an understanding of project planning, scheduling, resource coordination, monitoring, and reporting.

Demonstrate the ability to interpret and work with construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.

Possess strong organisational and time-management skills.

Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Possess strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

Demonstrate the ability to coordinate multiple activities, teams, contractors, and deadlines effectively.

Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.

Be proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management or reporting tools.

Demonstrate strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving construction and project challenges.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and timely project delivery.

Be comfortable working in both office and construction-site environments.
