The Opportunity
WEUC invites applications from qualified and experienced academics for a Senior Lecturer position in Finance and Accounting .
The successful candidate will contribute to academic excellence through high-quality teaching, research, student supervision, curriculum development, academic mentorship, and participation in the wider activities of the College.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will
Deliver engaging and high-quality lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical sessions, and other academic activities.
Develop, review, and enhance courses and curricula in Finance and Accounting.
Integrate current financial developments, accounting standards, technology, industry practices, case studies, and contemporary research into teaching and learning.
Conduct original research in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly outlets.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide effective academic guidance.
Mentor junior faculty members and contribute to their teaching, research, and professional development.
Develop academic and research collaborations with universities, financial institutions, accounting firms, professional bodies, businesses, and other relevant stakeholders.
Participate in academic conferences, seminars, workshops, and professional development activities.
Contribute to curriculum review, programme development, accreditation, and quality assurance activities.
Participate actively in departmental and institutional committees and academic planning.
Support finance and accounting consultancy , professional development, industry engagement, and research initiatives.
Promote a welcoming, inclusive, collaborative, analytical, and intellectually stimulating learning environment.
Undertake other academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the College.

Qualification Required & Experience
Candidates must
Possess a PhD, MPhil, or MSc. in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant area of specialization.
Have at least three (3) years of teaching and/or research experience at a university or comparable higher education institution.
Have at least two (2) publications in their area of specialization.
Demonstrate a sound record of teaching, research, and academic engagement.
Demonstrate experience supervising and supporting undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
Demonstrate strong academic, analytical, communication, interpersonal, research, and mentoring skills.
Show evidence of continuous professional development and engagement with current developments in Finance and Accounting.
Demonstrate the ability to connect academic theory with contemporary financial, accounting, and business practices.
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the academic community.
